Applications are now open for the Huawei Technologies Internship program

The Huawei Technologies Internship program is an initiative of Huawei and ICT Authority is looking for talented University students in their 3rd, 4th or 5th year of study and specializing in Engineering. The program, named 'Telecom Seeds for the future' is open to Kenyan nationals from recognized universities. The initiative will see top ten interns offered a chance to further their skills in China.

Interested students should fill in an application form available at www.icta.go.ke. The deadline for application is on 18th August, 2014. The program commences in September 2014 and lasts two for months.

Interns are expected to get on-the-job-training and mentorship in order to be better versed with the latest technologies in the telecommunications sector.

The program aims to fulfill specific partnership programs informed by the National ICT Master Plan 2017 that have identified key priority areas as Integrated ICT infrastructure and info structure, human Capital and workforce, E-government services and ICT as a driver for industry.

Huawei and ICT Authority signed the capacity building partnership in June 2014 and the program is expected to benefit 100 students in the next 3 years.
